Fit-Outs

Lewis & Hickey was commissioned by Fashionhouse, a leading fashion wholesaler, to design its new headquarters in the Fashion City development in Ballymount, Dublin.

The brief was to transform the 50,000 sq ft shell into a platform to facilitate Fashionhouse's retail, marketing, sales, administration and warehousing requirements.

The resulting design is a balance of materials and detail to convey clearly defined spaces and image. Clear lines and glazing provide a visual interaction between the various functions on the building. The palette is restrained, the objective being to provide a base to showcase the product and not to compete against it.

The primary materials of terrazzo, glass and stainless steel are balanced with oakclad partitions and upholstered panelling to soften and humanise the space. Large-scale graphic images have also been used throughout to further punctuate and focus sight lines and draw people through the space.

The accommodation comprises ground floor reception, retail, discount cash + carry and warehouse; first floor staff accommodation, breakout area, meeting area and warehouse mezzanine 1; and second floor presentation suites, ancillary services and warehouse mezzanine 2.
