Lewis & Hickey were appointed in 2008 as Architects for Hotel la Tour, a new hotel venture from the people who built up and established the Hayley Conferencing Hotel Group. Lewis and Hickey have been briefed to help Hotel la Tour establish a new brand and hotel business comprising of four star city centre hotels with conference facilities, and to assist them in their desire to become 'the first choice for city centre business and leisure guests, offering contemporary and affordable hotel and conference accommodation'.

Hotel la Tour have the ambition to build a new build hotel of 150 to 200 rooms in every major city in the UK, and Lewis & Hickey have started designs for sites in Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and London. The design of each hotel is bespoke and draws on the context of each location to engender a genuine sense of place to each hotel rather than a standard generic solution. It is the consistency of quality that Hotel la Tour would like to identify the group to the diverse demands of business and leisure clients alike, creating a sanctuary of contemporary comfort, by blending updated urban chic with a unique architectural experience.

The Flagship Hotel at City Pack Gate Birmingham received planning permission in November 2009.
