Primary
Care
Part of an original 'Florence Nightingale' style Victorian hospital, facilities at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh needed updating to accommodate modern bed-head trunking, monitors and other services. Lewis & Hickey's brief also involved improving the general ambience of the building; being part of an intensive care unit, medical standards applied, but these were designed to create as clean, light and airy an atmosphere as possible within the context and constraints of the Victorian architecture.
