After the success of the Elysium holiday homes designed by Lewis & Hickey India, Kalptaru developers looked to complete the neighbourhood by asking L&H to design community facilities.
The leisure and club facilities of the 9 acre development are centrally located in the masterplan to work as an extension to the serviced villas. The open-plan zen concepts of the villa also resonate in the club layout which has access from roads on both sides and free-flowing indoor outdoor spaces. The massing consists of 3 blocks with climate responsive orientation thus dividing the site into a series of open and built spaces. Complementary functions are grouped within each block and the spaces created between the blocks provide opportunity for activity and congregation.
The façade design and roof overhangs are designed to provide shade and ventilation whereas water bodies provide relief to the indoor-outdoor spaces in a dry and extreme climate.
The club includes a cafe, restaurant, library, activity areas for children, indoor spaces for recreational games, private rooms for guests, admin areas, small theatre, gym, swimming pool, banquet facilities and a lush green lawn and landscape features for community events.
