The Trocadero has been one of London’s premier leisure destinations for the past 350 years in the form of theatres, restaurants, music halls, retail and hotels. Located between Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square in an area that has the highest footfall in Europe, it is known throughout the world as a symbol for London.
The site is made up from a number of different buildings constructed and extended at different periods, each of these having their own opportunities and challenges. Many of the lower units and the western buildings are occupied by existing tenants, and the brief was to develop, refurbish and convert nine floors into a high class hotel with destination bar, roof terrace - allowing for breathtaking views of the London skyline - and a floor dedicated to celebrity suites.
Lewis & Hickey developed the interior concepts for the rooms and for the front of house / destination bar areas. The clients’ ambition is that the new hotel facility will put the Trocadero firmly back as the premier London leisure destination and become a prestigious hotel of international repute.
