This project obtained Full Detailed Planning Approval (within the statutory 11 weeks) in July 2007 and has a project value of £110m to be funded via a PFI type structure. LOC Associates are acting as Lead Consultant and providing full Architectural services in the delivery of 2353 new build en-suite student bedrooms and the refurbishment of 647 existing bedrooms.

In addition to the provision of student bedrooms, the project delivers student ancillary uses such as a Management Suite and Common Rooms, Commercial / Retail floor space, University Administrative Office Accommodation, Sporting Facilities, Car Parking and the complete re-landscaping of what is currently an urban parkland campus. This project involves a high degree of University liaison and demolition / construction / infrastructure phasing to ensure continual usage of the campus and the retention of a critical number of student bed spaces and associated facilities.
